Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer

How will you contribute?

Lead the activity related to benchmarking, design and development of complex mechanical systems and/or mechanical components of electromechanical systems; ensuring integration with fluidic, electrical and software systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing a test facility for the benchmarking of automotive thermal system components like electrical pumps, actuators and fans
  • Initiate and enhance interaction with existing/potential customers’ technical teams
  • Serve as a bridge between a customer and the application team – help in translating the electromechanical component requirement into the motor specifications
  • Identify mechanical design deficiencies in a pump/fan, and arrive at the design solutions based on analytics or modeling efforts (Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) or Finite Element Analysis (FEA))
  • Work closely with motor design team and actively participate in the development of cost optimal electromechanical systems
  • Establish and maintain understanding of current and emerging manufacturing technology
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical publications/presentations/technical marketing documents for conferences/seminars, journals and/or company website
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

For This Role You Will Need

  • Masters or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of work experience.
  • More than three years of experience with the design and testing of automotive pumps/fans.
  • Sound knowledge on Fluid dynamic principles
  • Fluent in the use of the commercially available Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software
  • Attentive to customer’s needs, proactive and persuasive
  • Good communication skills, project management acumen, people and resource management expertise and cross-functional synergy
  • A team player able to work and contribute to the highly motivated and high performing team.
  • Willing to travel (More than 25% of the time)
  • Fluency in German and/or Mandarin/Cantonese will be a plus

 


Senior Engineer (Motor Technology)

Key responsibilities

        • Initiate and enhance interaction with existing/potential customers’ technical teams
        • Design an application specific cost optimized permanent magnet motors, actuators, sensors as well as magnetizing fixtures using design tools like 2D/3D finite element analysis and electromagnetic analytical design software’s
        • Establish a testing methodology and the corresponding test set-ups for the performance measurement of motors and electromagnetic devices
        • Evaluate the feasibility of various magnetic materials in an application
        • Lead and manage the projects and ensure in-time delivery
        • Contribute to the preparation of technical publications/presentations/technical marketing documents for conferences/seminars, journals and/or company website

 

Key qualifications and experience required:

    • Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering with at least 10 years of experience
    • More than five years of experience with the design and testing of permanent magnet motors
    • Sound knowledge of electromagnetic principles and electromagnetic finite element analysis (FEA) concepts
    • Fluent in the use of the commercially available analytical and FEA software for electromagnetic analysis
    • Proficient user of the motor design tools like SPEED and Motor-CAD
    • Attentive to customer’s needs, proactive and persuasive
    • Good communication skills, project management acumen, people and resource management expertise and cross-functional synergy
    • A team player able to work and contribute to the highly motivated and high performing team.
    • Willing to travel (More than 20% of the time)
    • Understanding of various control strategies for Brushless permanent magnet machines will be a plus
